The Morris Color Guard Is Based at Post 6049. Members Come From the Post, the American Legion and Other Veteran's Organizations Within Grundy County. Although Titled Morris, the Color Guard Will Serve Anywhere Requested in Grundy County and This Includes Abraham Lincoln National Veteran's Cemetery. Primary Duty Is Rendering Military Honors at Funerals of Veterans. Color Guard Also Participates in Events Such As Memorial Day and Veteran's Day Parades and Ceremonies, and Other Civic Events As Requested. The Color Guard Is Not a Drill Team. Drill and Manual of Arms Movements Are Minimal. Uniform Items Are Furnished, or If Not on Hand, the Member Is Reimbursed.
