AL'S RESTAURANT TO HOST THANKSGIVING DINNER Al's Family Restaurant in Morris and the Ortiz Hearing Center will host a free Thanksgiving dinner for those that are alone during the holiday season. "No one should be alone on Thanksgiving" said Dr. Phil Ortiz. This popular holiday event began sixteen ears ago as an I Care International project y local optometrist, Dr. Philip Ortiz, and has continued to gain momentum over the years. Dr. Ortiz expresses his gratitude for the involvement of so many individuals over the years that made this dinner possible. Dr. Ortiz especially credits his late wife, Gay Ortiz, who was very involved in the founding of this event. He expresses his sincere thanks to the many local business people who have made this dinner possible, especially Gary Rockis. This year, Ortiz Hearing Center, 880 Bedford Road, Morris will be sponsoring the event. This year, there will be 2 seatings at Al's Restaurant, owned by Al Lopez and located at 306 Liberty Street in Morris. The first seating will dine at 12 noon and the second seating will dine at 1:30 pm. Dr. Phil Ortiz encourages those who would like to participate, to please call 815-942- 0921 for reservations. Al Lopez and members of the Lopez family will be among the servers. This Thanksgiving Dinner event has definitely grown in popularity over the years turning into quite the local tradition. Not only does Al's restaurant provide dinner for those individuals in his restaurant but the Morris Fire Department will be delivering about 30-40 meals to Elliot Manor, as well, serving a total of approximately 200 meals that day. The dinner consists of turkey with all the trimmings, including stuffirn mashed potatoes and miscellaneous side dishes. Many individuals contribute to the dinner by providing desserts.
